Slim & Sage Portion Control Plates
A few weeks ago a client introduced me to the Slim & Sage Portion Control Plates. So, of course I had to look into this portion control system. Slim & Sage is based on research that shows that our portion sizes have increased dramatically since the 1970′s. Many research studies to date have shown that one of the simplest ways to eat less is to use smaller plates.
Fifty years ago the average dinner plate was 9 inches. Today dinner plates have increased in size to 12 inches. Slim & Sage portion control plates take us back to 9 inch plates, which help the average person each 48 % fewer calories. An added benefit to the Slim & Sage plates is the geometric pattern which allows you to portion out your meals, which can help you eat 58% few calories!
I tell all of my clients to visualize separations on their plates when they sit down to eat. A good rule of thumb is to fill half your plate with vegetables, 1/4 lean protein, 1/4 whole grains. Slim & Sage makes this easy to do. Plus they are the most gorgeous portion control plates I have seen yet. Most portion control plates are plastic and have pictures printed on them or actual divisions in the plate making portion control easy yet not very discreet. Most portion control plates remind me of plates my children used when they were toddlers. Slim and Sage are definitely not a child’s plate.
Slim & Sage are made of porcelain and are dishwasher/microwave safe. A set of 4 retails for $99.00. Four patterns are available: Pacific Bold, Pacific Light, Ruby Bold, and Ruby Light. Slim & Sage is offering 25% to my readers. Use the code Nut25. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

My mom has my grandmother’s dinnerware and the entree plates are the same size as the salad plates nowadays. The serving dish is the same size as a dinner plate. It amazes me! Great post and product.
Those are really pretty. I may just invest in some of them.
